Ask Candidates Which Meeting They Would Remove
Most interview questions about meetings produce safe answers about agendas and preparation. A sharper prompt is, “Which recurring meeting would you remove from your current team, and what would replace it?”
The replacement matters. A candidate who simply dislikes meetings may remove coordination without replacing the information flow. A thoughtful answer identifies the decision the meeting is supposed to support, then proposes a cheaper way to make that decision.
Follow up by asking who might disagree and why. That turns a preference into a test of organizational awareness. The question and related workplace prompts appear at Questions for Interview.
